More Drug Arrests made in Town of Deerpark

For Immediate Release – April 8, 2013

(HUGUENOT, NY) – On April 2nd 2013, a police officer on routine patrol observed a vehicle parked in a no parking zone on Hook Road in the area of Number 2 Beach in Sparrowbush. When the officer approached the vehicle and interviewed the passenger, he observed hypodermic needles on the floor of the vehicle.

The operator of the vehicle was identified as Kate J. Ventre of Milford. The passenger was identified as Tyler D. Benson of Port Jervis. Both occupants of the vehicle were removed and during further investigation, officers recovered a small amount of heroin and three hypodermic needles. Ventre, 21 of Milford P.A. was charged with possession of a hypodermic instrument and Benson, age 28 of Port Jervis was charged with possession of a hypodermic instrument and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, both misdemeanors.

“Our officers, along with officers from the City of Port Jervis, are aggressively attacking the drug culture in our community and trying to improve the quality of life for our residents and our children,” said Karl A.
