HURRICANE SANDY RECOVERY UPDATE WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2012 – 12:00 PM

·      The Town of Deerpark is still under a local State of Emergency until TODAY at 6 PM.  Most roads are passable but please be cautious.  Town Hall is open for business today during regular business hours.

·      Orange and Rockland is still reporting that power will be restored in 5 to 10 days.  Power has been restored to some areas in the town as of today.  They are working to correct the problems. Please be patient.

·      Orange and Rockland announced this morning that they will be making dry ice available at Westfall FD from 2 PM to 4 PM TODAY.

·      The Emergency Management Center is still activated at Town Hall.  Please report any emergencies by calling us at 845-856-3911 or visiting us at the center.  You can also call 911 as well.

·      The emergency temporary shelter is still open at the Hamilton Bicentennial School located at 929 US Route 209 in Cuddebackville.  Pets are allowed but must be crated and you must bring food.  Please call the Emergency Management Center at 845-856-3911 before reporting to the center. Shower facilities are also available.

·      HALLOWEEN: If you choose to go outdoors for Halloween tonight, we encourage you to go out during daylight hours.  In addition, please stay with your children at all times and avoid any downed power lines and tree limbs.  Be safe.
