EXECUTIVE ORDER 1 OF 2012: DECLARATION OF STATE OF EMERGENCY

I, KARL A. BRABENEC, SUPERVISOR, of the TOWN OF DEERPARK, pursuant to Article 2-B, Section 24 of the New York State Executive Law, hereby certify as follows:


There exists in the Town of Deerpark the possibility of POSSIBLE AND UNPRECEDENTED SUSTAINED AND DAMAGING WINDS, HEAVY RAINFALL, DOWNED POWER LINES, EXTENDED POWER OUTAGES, ROAD CLOSURES, AND SEVERE FLOODING INCIDENTS THROUGHOUT THE TOWN DUE TO HURRICANE SANDY.

Therefore, as Supervisor of the Town of Deerpark, I declare that a local State of Emergency will be in effect as of

Monday, October 29, 2012, 12:00 am until further notice.

Pursuant to this STATE OF EMERGENCY, I hereby order the following:

1. The presence of unauthorized persons in unauthorized areas is prohibited.

2. The Deerpark Emergency Operations Center will be activated on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 9:00 AM and can be reached at 845-856-3911. All municipal buildings will be closed. The Deerpark Highway Department and Police department will remain open for emergency operations.

3. Residents are highly recommended to voluntarily evacuate low lying areas of the town

4 Schools are ordered closed on Monday, October 29, 2012.

5. All town parks and recreational facilities shall be closed to the public effective immediately until further notice.

6. Orders are subject to revision upon demand.
