STATEMENT FROM DEERPARK SUPERVISOR KARL A. BRABENEC REGARDING POSSIBLE SEVERE WEATHER IN COMING WEEK – OCTOBER 25, 2012:

The National Weather Service is predicting the possibility of heavy rain and high winds at some point this weekend or early next week as a result of Hurricane Sandy’s churning up the eastern seaboard.

The Town of Deerpark and our Emergency Response team are ready in the event of a severe weather incident. Our team will be monitoring the weather situation through the next few days. We will be keeping all informed of the town’s status and if local emergency operations need to commence through all media outlets, our web site at www.townofdeerpark.org, and social media and any other means available.

My office will be in contact with NYC DEP to recommend that some water is released from the reservoirs, which are currently at 98% capacity.
