Notice is hereby given of a public hearing to be held by the Town of Deerpark Town Board, Orange County, New York, regarding the possible sale of land by the Town of Deerpark to the City of Port Jervis via Agreement with the Orange County Land Trust.
Specifically, The Town is considering sale of approximately 556 acres currently owed by the Town and designated on the tax rolls of the Town of Deerpark as parcels:
24-2-29.1, 24-2-29.21, 24-2-12.12, and 34-2-1.
The lands were previously obtained via purchase from Boehmler. The lands would be added to the reservoir lands owned and managed by the City of Port Jervis, with a conservation easement and a public access easement retained by the Orange County Land Trust such that currently permitted uses would continue forever with a right of reverter in the event that such easements/permissions were ever breached.
Information on this proposed property transfer is posted on the Town website at townofdeerparkny.gov. The Hearing shall take place at 7:15 o’clock P.M. on the 7th day of June, 2021, or as soon thereafter as practicable. IF TOWN HALL IS OPEN, the meeting will be conducted in-person, only, at the Town of Deerpark Town Hall, 420 Route 209, Huguenot, NY. IF TOWN HALL IS NOT OPEN, the meeting will be conducted virtually through Zoom, only. In the event that the hearing is conducted virtually, information on how to join and participate in the public hearing via Zoom will be available on the Town website; Specifically, a link with access to connect to the public hearing will be posted on the website townofdeerparkny.gov. Written comment will be accepted either by email at fsantini@townofdeerparkny.gov or by (regular) mail at Town of Deerpark, PO Box 621, Huguenot, NY 12746 until June 7, 2021 at 5:00pm. All parties wishing to be heard, shall be heard at that time.
